The U.S. election reminds us and the international community that we still have very divergent views about systemic racial and gender bias in this country.

One of the biggest take-aways is that many people still believe that equality is enough to improve the depravities in our system.

Equality says that everyone has the same opportunities. Equity says that each person comes at an opportunity from a different background.

And each of our backgrounds is determined by the great disparities in wealth and racial fairness within our economic, political and social systems.
